Privacy Policy

HairGain is owned and operated by Musab Abdullahi, operating as an individual (“HairGain,” “we,” “us”). You can reach us about anything privacy-related at hairgain.support@gmail.com.

• Account information: when you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive the name and email address those providers share with us.
• Quiz responses: age, biological sex, family history of hair loss, current shedding and hairline changes, stress level, sleep quality, diet and lifestyle habits, smoking status, current medications, and current hair care routines you provide during onboarding.
• Photos: your front hairline, crown, and back-of-head photos submitted for AI analysis, and any further photos you submit for weekly or monthly progress tracking.
• Assessment and habit data: your risk level, Norwood stage, Hair Health Score, and your daily habit/treatment tracking activity within the app.
• Subscription status: subscriptions are billed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. We receive confirmation of your subscription status and a transaction reference — we never receive or store your payment card details.

When you submit your 3 hairline photos, they are sent to our servers and then to our AI provider, Google’s Gemini API, to generate your risk analysis.

• What is sent: your 3 photos, along with the minimum quiz context needed to personalize the analysis (age, family history, and related answers).
• Who processes it: Google processes this content on our behalf to return the structured analysis used to calculate your score. Requests are not sent with your name, email, or account identifiers attached.
• Storage: your photos are stored securely with our cloud infrastructure provider, Supabase, and are only accessible through your account.

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the service providers that help us run HairGain, for the purposes described in this policy:

• Supabase — account authentication, database storage, and secure photo storage.
• Google (Gemini API) — AI-powered photo analysis, as described in Section 03.
• Apple and Google — Sign in with Apple / Google, and payment processing and purchase records for subscriptions, under their own privacy policies.
• [RevenueCat — include this line if/when you integrate it] subscription and entitlement management.

We may also disclose data if required by law, or as part of a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets, in which case this policy would continue to apply to your data.

Our service providers may process data in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on the safeguards those providers offer for cross-border data transfers.

We retain your account information, quiz responses, photos, and assessment history for as long as your account is active. If you delete your account (Profile → Delete Account), we permanently delete this information within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.

You can exercise your most important rights directly in the app:

• Delete your data: Profile → Delete Account permanently erases your account, quiz responses, photos, and assessment history.
• Access or correct your information: update your quiz answers and profile details directly in the app, or contact us for anything not editable in-app.
• Export your data: contact us at hairgain.support@gmail.com to request a copy of your data.

If you are located somewhere with specific data protection laws (such as the EU/UK’s GDPR or California’s CCPA), you may also have the right to object to or restrict certain processing, and the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority. Contact us to exercise any of these rights.

HairGain is intended for users 16 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16. If we learn we have collected information from a user under 16, we will delete it.

HairGain does not currently use any third-party analytics or advertising tracking tools. We do not track you across other apps or websites, and we do not share data with advertising networks. If this changes in the future, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent before enabling any such tool.

We will update this policy when our practices change, and update the date at the top when we do. For material changes, we will notify you in the app.
